Once upon a time, long before text messages and take away pizza, surfing began with the royal families of the Hawaiian Islands. One of the descendants, Duke Kahanamoku in 1915, travelled to Australia and at Freshwater Beach showed Australia the art of surfing and just how much fun it is.
If you wish to discover the same thrills that the Hawaiian’s knew about centuries before white settlement, the professional instructors at Ocean Living Surf School will teach you.
Surf students are taught not only surfing skills, but also environmental awareness, surf and ocean safety, and above all FUN.
Lessons are conducted mostly at one of Australia’s best surf and picturesque beaches, namely Goolwa Beach, with the famous Bombora Café right in front. Here, parents or friends enjoy a coffee or hearty meal while watching the fun times being taught in the surf.
