Green Tank Gallery is situated just south of Mt Compass on Woodcone Road and a short distance from the Victor Road.
It’s open most days between 11am – 5pm where you’ll probably find award winning artist John Lacey working in his studio. He’ll be delighted to show and discuss with you works in the gallery. His paintings have a diverse style ranging from impressionistic and expressive contemporary landscapes. Works for sale range from en plein air sketches to larger oils from the region and other states of Australia.
The gallery and studio form part of the residence of John and Lydia Lacey who recently acquired a suitable property to bring a long time dream to fruition. It has been designed and purpose built to live and work from and enabling John to show his work to the public.
Gallery exhibitions are changed regularly and is therefore worth a visit on more than one occasion. You may even get the chance to delve into the studio store where you could find a little gem that could be hard to resist. John, Lydia and the Green Tank Gallery are members of the Mt Compass Tourism and Produce Trail and the Fleurieu Artist Trail, signified by large purple flags you’ll see around the area.
John is available for commissions of that favourite scene. Or for special occasions such as a major birthday or weddings. John can arrange a voucher to a specific value for a gift to the special person. He also conducts regular workshops and is available for demonstrations to groups or corporate functions.
