Tour Down Under Stage 3 Finish

With world-class riders looping Victor Harbor three times you’ll want to stake your roadside space early.

Glenelg and Victor Harbor are in the spotlight for this varied stage which sees the peloton travel through the Fleurieu Peninsula and McLaren Vale.

After leaving Glenelg at the start, riders will take on Pennys Hill Road for the Subaru King of the Mountain points before the three-lap finishing circuit around Victor Harbor.

Victor Harbor Finish Line

Join in the magic of a fun filled day in seaside Victor Harbor. There’ll be something for everyone, with the magnificent Rotary Art Show on Warland Reserve, amusement rides, food vans, family fun activities and a thriving Main Street precinct.

Cyclists arrive in Victor Harbor via Inman Valley Road at around 1.30pm and will compete around the 13 km circuit of the City of Victor Harbor three times, with a sprint finish on the Esplanade expected to finish at 2:53pm.

Victor Harbor is the perfect seaside town for kids to explore. The thought of fish and chips, sand castles and ice cream will have the kids wriggling with excitement. After watching the Jersey presentations in Victor Harbor, take the horse-drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island for a penguin tour at the Granite Island Recreation and Nature Park.

Meet some of Australia’s wildlife at Urimbirra Wildlife Park, only five minutes from Victor Harbor. You can feed kangaroos, visit the birds in the aviary, see lizards, dingoes, crocodiles – there are even opportunities to cuddle koalas and hold snakes!

Rolling Road Closures & Detours

Cyclists arrive in Victor Harbor at around 1.30pm and will compete around the City of Victor Harbor three times, with a sprint finish on the Esplanade.

Rolling road closures along the 13km circuit will be implemented by the South Australian Police (SAPOL). SAPOL will re-open roads – excluding Island Street, the Esplanade and Flinders Parade closures – between each lap, once professional riders and support vehicles have passed through, and it is safe to do so.

Road users should expect long delays along the race route, while the professional riders are in Victor Harbor between 1.30pm and 3:00pm, and should consider taking the following detours to avoid the race route during this time.

Victor Harbor Road – Hindmarsh Tiers Road – Hutchinson Road – Greenhills Road/Day Road.
Inman Valley Road – Swains Crossing Rd – Pages Road – Greenhills Road.
